With more than 80 per cent of FIFA 14 mobile fans playing FIFA Ultimate Team or Matches of the Week, the team is focused on combining innovative gameplay while enhancing the managerial experience of FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Mobile

The most popular mode in the FIFA franchise, FIFA Ultimate Team™ is at the center of the free-to-play mobile experience this season. With more than 80 per cent of FIFA 14 mobile fans playing FIFA Ultimate Team or Matches of the Week, the team is focused on combining innovative gameplay while enhancing the managerial experience of FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Mobile. To do that this season, the team is delivering two modes on mobile - FIFA Ultimate Team and Matches of the Week – and bringing new ways to play the game – Quick Simulation, Classic or Casual Controls, and new controller support.

One of the most requested mobile features from last season, Quick Simulation makes its debut on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, giving you complete control of your squad while a match plays out quickly on your tablet or phone. You are able to control the mentality, effort, and approach of your entire team in a managerial experience during a Quick Simulation match. It puts you in the manager’s seat and gives you an aerial view of the pitch so you can see player trends and adjust on the fly.

This season, you can choose from Casual or Classic Controls - with all new through-ball and tactical dribbling options. Through ball will allow you to send your teammates through on goal with a tap of a button or tap twice on the screen to activate Tactical Dribbling - give your players greater control on the ball.

The brand of men's personal care products, for which Messi is a world ambassador, has become an official sponsor of the Club in Latin America for the next three seasons

FC Barcelona has reached a sponsorship agreement with Gillette that makes the brand of men's personal care products, FC Barcelona’s Official Shaver in Latin America until 2017. The agreement forms part of the Club’s on-going project to form partnerships with the world’s leading brands.

The three-year deal was announced this Thursday in the Sala Roma at the Camp Nou at a press conference attended by FCB first team player and world ambassador for Gillette, Lionel Messi, the director general of FC Barcelona, Antoni Rossich, and the CEO for Gillette in Latin America, Alexandra Vegas.

The deal includes the launch of a limited edition of shavers that is already on the market, showing off the Barça colours and passion and which is associated to the following products: Mach3, Prestobarba3, cartridges and pre-shave products. As well as the brand association agreement, the deal also includes other aspects such as organising a soccer clinic with FCBEscola.

The alliance between FC Barcelona and Gillette honours something both brands have in common: precision. So, the main feature of the campaign is a video being distributed on social networks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9-K2aK-u9Q) that Gillette created to celebrate the partnership. The campaign plays with the relation between the word ‘precision, which is Latin in origin, and certain Latin American footballers, who are renowned masters of precision on the pitch.

Recent market analysis has revealed that FC Barcelona has some 70 million supporters in Latin America. Only China has a larger market than Mexico, with 24 million fans, and Brazil, with 20 million.

Gillette, high precision technology

For more than 110 years, Gillette has provided millions of men all around the world with high precision technology and products of unrivalled quality. From shaving and personal hygiene to skin care and deodorants, Gillette offers a wide range of products including electric shavers and pre-shave, skincare and aftershave products, as well as anti-perspirants, deodorants and body soaps.

At today's board meeting, Jordi Moix was named as the replacement for former secretary Toni Freixa

The Board of Directors decided at today’s ordinary meeting to make Jordi Moix its new secretary, as well as president of the Disciplinary Commission. Toni Freixa, who has sat on the board since it won the elections in 2010, has departed.

Moix was assistant director of the Economy and Patrimony Department, where he was one of the main figures in promoting the new Espai Barça. He will continue to work in that role along with his two new positions.

Jordi Moix background

Jordi Moix (Barcelona, 12 November 1960) has a degree in Business Sciences from ESADE and a masters in International Management from the Thunderbird Graduate School in the USA. He has always worked in the real estate business and was the founding partner of Linq Venture (M&A and Real Estate consultants), having previously been director general of international promotion and expansion at Reyal Urbis (a leading company in the sector); director general in Catalonia for Metrovacesa (he was president of La Maquinista Vila Global SA); director general and member of the administrative council at Layetana, and director general of Habitat. He currently sits on the executive committee at Barcelona Urban Cluster-BUC, and was formerly president of the executive committee at ULI (Urban Land Institute) and has been a member of the Cercle d’Economia since 1988. He was director of the Economy and Patrimony Department at FC Barcelona between 2003 and 2005.

Other issues

As well as the changes in functions, Manel Arroyo also explained that the club will be sending a letter to the president of the National Pact on the Right to Decide, Joan Rigol, to reassert the stance that Sandro Rosell made regarding the political future of Catalonia at the 2013 assembly.

It was also reported that FC Barcelona has received the grounds for the verdict issued by the FIFA Appeals Tribunal. “The Legal Services are currently working on the appeal that will be presented over the next few days to the Sports Tribunal” explained Moix. “We obviously still have some discrepancies.”

On the Neymar matter, Manel Arroyo explained that the board has met the club attorney who is working on the matter, Cristòbal Martell. “After debating the situation we have decided that the club should continue to work on getting the case to the Administrative Court” said Arroyo.

Finally, the Board also presented the different actions that the Edelmira Calvetó Group will be promoting this season to promote and foster a greater role for women at the club.

'Write your own Barça history', as part of the 30th anniversary of the Museum
In this new digital activity, fans can pick the 16 most important moments from the club's history to make an 'infographic' that they can share on social networks

As part of the commemorations of the Museum’s 30th anniversary, this Wednesday FC Barcelona has set up a brand new activity for fans to write their personal histories of the club. The activity is taking place via a new microsite available in Catalan, Spanish or English and that can be accessed using any kind of device. It shows a selection of highlights from almost 115 years of club history, and fans can choose their favourites.

They’ve been divided into four different time periods (1899-1974, 1974-1992, 1992-2003 and 2003-2014) and participants pick four pictures from each to make their ‘infographic’ depicting their own personal FC Barcelona historical timeline.

Monthly draw for shirt

The infographic is personalised with the user’s name and photo and can be shared on social networks (Twitter, Facebook and Google+) using the hashtag #Museu30FCB or highlighted as a main action to celebrate the anniversary. All participants will also be entered for a monthly draw to win a shirt.

All of the images that were selected for the microsite appear on the history charts in the FC Barcelona Museum in the form of videos or photos showing glorious moments since the club was founded in 1899 right through to the present day.

Once the action has ended, FC Barcelona’s own infographic will be made using the pictures that were chosen the most often by the participants. This will be ‘The Barça history written by its fans’.

Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu and Damm CEO Enric Crous signed a sponsorship extension / PHOTO: GERMÁN PARGA - FCB
The company will continue to be a Premium Club Partner of FC Barcelona and remains the Club’s exclusive global beer

“We are honoured and very satisfied"

Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu was very happy to have extended the agreement with Estrella Damm: “FC Barcelona and Damm strongly support youth football and Catalan football. We both have great teams. We are honoured and very satisfied to continue to be connected to Damm, a company we share many historic links with as two Catalan organisations with more than a hundred years of history behind us both, who share the same values. We have been travelling companions for many years now and we hope to stay together for a long time to strengthen our common global commitments."

FC Barcelona and Estrella Damm signed an agreement this lunchtime to extend the company’s position as Club sponsor until the end of the 2017/18 season. The deal was announced at an event held at the Antiga Fàbrica d’Estrella Damm attended by Damm CEO Enric Crous, Club President  Josep Maria Bartomeu, Economic Vice-President Javier Faus and the Club Director General, Antoni Rossich.

The extension agreement confirms Estrella Damm as a Premium Partner and exclusive Official Beer of FC Barcelona in most of the world, as well as strengthening the relationship between the two organisations.

The Estrella Damm brand will continue to be present at the Camp Nou and will strengthen its international presence via its connection with FCBarcelona.

Estrella Damm will continue to exclusively sponsor the video line up announcements at the Camp Nou at the start of each game, as well as the naming rights to the Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm, with the Estrella Damm logo present on all supports used during the Trophy. Estrella Damm will also name the Trophy’s man of the match.

The new deal also means Estrella Damm will continue to sponsor the Camp Nou’s gastronomy area  - The Camp Nou Lounge – which is situated in the main stand during the summer months and both parties have agreed to organise further event to strengthen the links between them and the Club’s supporters, similar to the “Viu el Barça com a casa” campaign, which saw Estrella Damm invite six fans to their VIP box at the Spanish Cup Final, accompanied by ex-Barça player Luis Garcia.

At the end of the signing ceremony, the directors of both institutions shared a toast to celebrate the deal at the Antiga Fàbrica d’Estrella Damm.

Estrella Damm and FC Barcelona

Since its foundation in 1876, Estrella Damm has had close links with sport and for many years has accompanied FC Barcelona in many moments of its history. The two organisations are both more than 100 years old and have carried out any number of activities together, both in Catalonia and abroad, and have worked to get closer to the Club’s fans and players, with whom they have shared so many titles and so much success down the years.

These actions include the Barça Champions open to bus which takes the players through the city streets on the many occasions when they win a title such as the Spanish League, Cup or Champions League or the celebration of the Festa del Gamper and the Man of the Trophy award held at the start of each season.

Estrella Damm have also filmed various promotional spots paying homage to the Club, such as the  ‘Amigo Amigo’, ‘El tovalló de Messi’ and ‘Què tenim?’ campaigns.

Damm also has its own prestigious academy system, which has brought through a number of players who have gone on to play for Barça’s first team.

This new agreement, set to last until the end of the 2017/18 season, gives continuity to the historic relationship between Estrella Damm and FC Barcelona and is sure to be full of further success for the Club, the company and the fans.

The Club have put their name to the Catalan National Pact for Self -Determination

FC Barcelona have signed the Catalan National Pact for Self -Determination. The Club formalised their adhesion in a formal letter from President Josep Maria Bartomeu to the Pact Co-ordinator Joan Rigol. The Pact brings together over 3,500 organisations and associations from a wide spectre range of social and political positions which endorse the Catalan people's right to self-determination.

FC Barcelona has already signalled its position in favour of self-determination for Catalonia in a declaration made in the President’s Report at the 2013 Members Representatives Meeting – the maximum authority of the Club. In that statement, then President Sandro Rosell explained: “we will always be there for our country and for the will of its people. We defend the right to self-determination because that forms a part of the fundamental rights which all people and nations must have”.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu has frequently referred to this statement of principles when questioned about the Club’s position over recent months
