The Barça B v Indonesia U19 match attracted a global audience / PHOTO: GERMÁN PARGA - FCB
The live broadcast on the Club's website and YouTube were a huge success The presence of Luis Suarez and Thomas Vermaelen brought the friendly the global audience

The match played between the Barça B team and the Indonesia under-19 team this past Wednesday was one of the most successful events to have been broadcast live in recent months on FC Barcelona’s official website. Between the live streaming of the match from the Ciutat Esportiva and the YouTube video on the Club's official channel the match has been seen more than 220,000 times with a maximum audience of 37,000 people watching at the same time.

Luis Suarez’s second appearance for Barça and Thomas Vermaelen's first gave the friendly, just one of several stops on the Indonesian team's European tour, an unexpected place on the global stage.

Even after the conclusion of the match there were more than 90,000 combined visits on YouTube and Dailymotion for those eager to see the highlights of the match.

    Massive following in Indonesia

The match also received an enormous following on FC Barcelona's official outlets in Indonesia. Although the match was broadcast live in prime time on SCTV, the Club's Indonesian website (www.fcbarcelona.co.id) had an unprecedented amount of traffic with seven times more visitors than normal.

The match was also massively followed via a minute to minute Twitter feed on the Club's official Indonesian Twitter account, @fcbarcelona_id, where followers could glimpse exclusive match photos throughout the game. The number of followers there doubled compared to a normal day.

Going even further, LINE, the club's official instant message platform in Indonesia, has also seen a twofold increase in the number of users thanks to this week's special content. The most popular topics have been the visit by the Indonesian players to the Camp Nou Experience and the exclusive interview of team captain Evan Dimas, which received a massive audience.

Indonesia has one of the largest blocs in the world of FC Barcelona supporters following the Club through social networks. On Facebook, Indonesia is ranked first in number of fans with more than 7 million.

The brand of men's personal care products, for which Messi is a world ambassador, has become an official sponsor of the Club in Latin America for the next three seasons

FC Barcelona has reached a sponsorship agreement with Gillette that makes the brand of men's personal care products, FC Barcelona’s Official Shaver in Latin America until 2017. The agreement forms part of the Club’s on-going project to form partnerships with the world’s leading brands.

The three-year deal was announced this Thursday in the Sala Roma at the Camp Nou at a press conference attended by FCB first team player and world ambassador for Gillette, Lionel Messi, the director general of FC Barcelona, Antoni Rossich, and the CEO for Gillette in Latin America, Alexandra Vegas.

The deal includes the launch of a limited edition of shavers that is already on the market, showing off the Barça colours and passion and which is associated to the following products: Mach3, Prestobarba3, cartridges and pre-shave products. As well as the brand association agreement, the deal also includes other aspects such as organising a soccer clinic with FCBEscola.

The alliance between FC Barcelona and Gillette honours something both brands have in common: precision. So, the main feature of the campaign is a video being distributed on social networks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9-K2aK-u9Q) that Gillette created to celebrate the partnership. The campaign plays with the relation between the word ‘precision, which is Latin in origin, and certain Latin American footballers, who are renowned masters of precision on the pitch.

Recent market analysis has revealed that FC Barcelona has some 70 million supporters in Latin America. Only China has a larger market than Mexico, with 24 million fans, and Brazil, with 20 million.

    Gillette, high precision technology

For more than 110 years, Gillette has provided millions of men all around the world with high precision technology and products of unrivalled quality. From shaving and personal hygiene to skin care and deodorants, Gillette offers a wide range of products including electric shavers and pre-shave, skincare and aftershave products, as well as anti-perspirants, deodorants and body soaps.

'Write your own Barça history', as part of the 30th anniversary of the Museum
In this new digital activity, fans can pick the 16 most important moments from the club's history to make an 'infographic' that they can share on social networks

As part of the commemorations of the Museum’s 30th anniversary, this Wednesday FC Barcelona has set up a brand new activity for fans to write their personal histories of the club. The activity is taking place via a new microsite available in Catalan, Spanish or English and that can be accessed using any kind of device. It shows a selection of highlights from almost 115 years of club history, and fans can choose their favourites.

They’ve been divided into four different time periods (1899-1974, 1974-1992, 1992-2003 and 2003-2014) and participants pick four pictures from each to make their ‘infographic’ depicting their own personal FC Barcelona historical timeline.

    Monthly draw for shirt

The infographic is personalised with the user’s name and photo and can be shared on social networks (Twitter, Facebook and Google+) using the hashtag #Museu30FCB or highlighted as a main action to celebrate the anniversary. All participants will also be entered for a monthly draw to win a shirt.

All of the images that were selected for the microsite appear on the history charts in the FC Barcelona Museum in the form of videos or photos showing glorious moments since the club was founded in 1899 right through to the present day.

Once the action has ended, FC Barcelona’s own infographic will be made using the pictures that were chosen the most often by the participants. This will be ‘The Barça history written by its fans’.

These actions include the Barça Champions open to bus which takes the players through the city streets on the many occasions when they win a title such as the Spanish League, Cup or Champions League or the celebration of the Festa del Gamper and the Man of the Trophy award held at the start of each season.
