FCB Math Champion
With this new free and educative app the users have to get over some mathematic problems to unblock different exclusive content

About Planet Factory

Planet Factory Interactive is one of the outstanding Catalan companies working in the development of educational apps for kids and educators, with more than 40 available apps for all the mobile platforms.

FC Barcelona announces the launch of FCB Math Champion, an educative official app for tablets and smartphones. The game is suitable for all the ages but it is thought for children from seven years old on. In FCB Math Champion the aim of the users is to get over some mathematic problems in order to get a big amount of prizes: more than 200 exclusive photos and videos of the first team players among many others.

This new application has been developed by Planet Factory and it is available for free for iOS and Android devices. It has more than 60 levels of difficulty divided in 4 cups. To get each award it is necessary to overcome with all the levels by solving additions and subtractions. The correct answers will allow the user to score a goal. The game consists in shooting penalties to a soccer goal defended by a goalkeeper, and all the game has a background sound which reminds the sound in a soccer field. Thus the users will be absorbed in the dynamic of the game and they will forget that they are in front of an educational app.

“Our experience creating educational apps together with the creative and sport support of FC Barcelona let us combine the entertainment and excitement of football with the education of children and teenagers” said Gemma Malet, co-founder of Planet Factory.

FCB Math Champion was created for children, so it is 100% safe for them. Moreover, it is already available in more than 20 languages thus it has become a global application for all the club members and supporters of Barça from all over the world.

The FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu was present at the event for the new Supporters' club which has members from diplomatic cores around the world and has its headquarters in Madrid

At lunchtime on Tuesday the ‘Penya Diplomàcia Blaugrana’ (Barça Diplomatic Supporters’ Group) enjoyed its presentation in Barcelona. The group was founded in February of this year and brings together members of the diplomatic core and politicians from all over the world who share a love of Barça. The supporters’ club president is José Maria Coso, Head of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Spanish Cooperation and its headquarters can be found in calle Botoneras in Madrid, right next to the city’s main square.

Launch in Barcelona

The event in Barcelona took place at the El Palauet Hotel and was led by the FC Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu. Also present from the club were vice presidents Jordi Cardoner, Carles Villarubí and the board member responsible for Supporters’ groups, Pau Vilanova. In attendance were six ambassadors who had all made the trip from Madrid; the Bolivian ambassador, María Carmen Almendras Camargo, attended as a founding member of the group as well as other ambassadors who countries have had or still have links with the club via foreign players at Barça. That is the case for the Brazilian ambassador, Paulo Cesa de Oliveira Campos; the ambassador from Argentina, Carlos Antonio Bettini; the Uruguayan ambassador Francisco C.Bustillo Bonasso and the Chilean representative, Javier Marambio Vial. Also there was the Hungarian ambassador Eniko Gyori, whose nation produced such Barça legends as Ladislao Kubala and Sandor Kocsis.

Support for the group

The Diplomatic Supporters’ Group was created under the initiative of Rodríguez Coso, a well known Barça fan who had set up a similar club in Lisbon during his time at the embassy in Portugal. The idea was supported by Barça director Pau Vilanova under the umbrella of the XXI Century project which aims to promote the Supporters’ Clubs as a brand.

The winner for November is Yaya Akherraz who will receive a Barça shirt Thousands of people have chosen their most important 16 moments from dozens of archive photographs

Thousands of people have taken part in the ‘Write your own Barça history’ competition in which contestants choose their most important 16 moments from FC Barcelona’s long existence by means of archive photographs. For the month of November the winner is Yaya Akherraz who will receive a Barça shirt.

The competition is part of a series of events to commemorate the FC Barcelona Museum’s 30th anniversary. Via the microsite ‘Write your own Barça history’, members and fans are able to choose the images that represent for them the history of FC Barcelona during its 115 year existence.

These moments can be chosen from four chronologically organised periods (1899-1974, 1974-1992, 1992-2003 and 2003-2014) and participants must choose four photos from each timeframe. Once chosen the 16 photographs are used to build an infographic in the form of a timeline with the most important moments selected by the contestants.

The most voted for moments

With the competition up and running the most chosen moments by the thousands of people who have taken part up to now are: the celebrations following the Club’s first Champions League success at Wembley; the image of a young Pep Guardiola and a young Albert Ferrer at the Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona; the Champions League winning celebrations in Paris with Carles Puyol and Ronaldinho; the video scoreboard at the Santiago Bernabéu following the 5-0 victory there in the season 1973/74; Lionel Messi at Camp Nou with his Ballon d’Or awards; Ronaldo celebrating the European Cup Winners Cup win in 1997.

New design for 2015 membership card

There will be new-look cards for 2015 / FCB PHOTOMONTAGE
Over the next few days, members will be charged the 177 euro fee for adults, the same amount as it has been for the last two years

The new year brings with it a new-look membership card for 2015. The club has come up with a new design that combines the Catalan flag, the Barça colours and the club crest, thus representing the true spirit of what it means to be a member of the club. The simple, modern design will be the same for all of the different categories in 2015, the only difference being the name: child (aleví), youth (infantile), adult and senior.

As agreed by the Board of Directors, the only increase in the membership fee will be relative to the Catalan CPI, which is 0.1%. This means that this year adults (the largest group) will pay 177 euros, the same cost as for the last two years. The children’s card has gone up slightly from €41.50 to €42, as has the youth one, from €87.50 to €88.

The commitment card has also gone up in price by half a euro from €136.50 to €137 as a result of the application of the year-over-year increase in the CPI of 0.1%.

Bank transfer

The cost of these cards will be charged to the bank accounts declared in the FC Barcelona census on December 19. Cards will be sent to these banks and can be collected from that date.

2015 prices by categories:

CATEGORY AND PRICE 2015

CHILD (ALEVÍ) €42
YOUTH (INFANTIL) €88
ADULT €177
COMMITMENT €137

19 December 2009: World Club title and sixth cup of the year!

Pep Guardiola's team made history by winning the Club World Cup for their unprecedented sixth title

FC Barcelona, led by Pep Guardiola, entered the Guinness Book of World Records by winning their unprecedented sixth title in 2009. After winning the Spanish Cup, La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, all corresponding to the 2008/2009 season, followed by the Spanish Super Cup, The European Super Cup and the Club World Cup, corresponding to the 2009/2010 season, Barça went into the record books as the only team to have ever won everything in a single year. The last jewel in the crown was the Club's first ever Club World Cup title, after having come up just short against Sao Paulo in 1992 and against Porto Alegre in 2006. It was a dramatic win that day, as Barça were down 1-0 to Estudiantes de la Plata with two minutes remaining in regulation.

[[CITA_1]]

But a goal by Pedro in minute 88 sent the match to extra time, when Leo Messi chested in to deliver the victory, the title, and the record for perhaps the greatest team in the history of the sport. The emotions were flowing, especially after the final whistle as Pep Guardiola broke down in tears on the turf, all too aware that his record-breaking 2009 team had literally won it all, going six for six, and would forever go down in history.

This singular moment, likely to stand forever, took place in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. Barça reached the final after defeating Mexico's Atlante FC 3-1 in the semifinals.

FC Barcelona will be better poised to cater for their massive following in the US / FCB ARCHIVE
In the light of the success of the new branch in Hong Hong, the decision to open an office in North America was announced at the final board meeting of 2014 It was also revealed that the first team will play a friendly in Qatar on February 4, 2015

FC Barcelona is going to be much more in touch with its North American market thanks to the decision announced by the board on Monday to open a new office in New York. The success of the branch in Hong Kong to serve the East Asian market was the inspiration for this decision, with the USA being one of the club’s most important commercial, digital and media priorities.

Another product of the meeting was the announcement of a friendly in Qatar on February 4 against an opponent to be decided. The game forms part of the agreement with Qatar Sports Investments.

The board also approved the extension of the sponsorship deal with Audi for a further four years until 2018.

They also decided that the year 2015 should be used to honour the memory of Josep Suñol i Garriga, who was president of the club from 1935 and 1936, and was executed in 1936. A special section of the club museum will be dedicated to him, and a bust will be placed on the presidential box at the Camp Nou, which will eventually be moved to the future institutional headquarters in the old Masia building.

In other decisions, 1.3 million euros will be spent on the Ciutat Esportiva training ground, including changes to the parking facilities, the creation of a recovery track for the first team players and the building of a new television studio.

Video highlights of the biggest moments of a year that will be remembered for many different reasons

2014 has been an intense year at FC Barcelona, and now’s the moment to reflect on the good and bad that has happened to the club and its players over the year. Messi has continued to break records wherever he treads, Xavi played his 700th game for Barça, there was a change of president, Valdés left the club and Puyol retired from active duty. The green light was given to the new stadium project, and the women’s football team and the other sports teams collected a wealth of trophies. This was also the year that brought the tragic passing away of former manager Tito Vilanova. The league title was lost of the very last day of the season and was followed by a change of manager and also an in-depth renovation of the first team squad. It’s been an eventful twelve months, and here they are, summarised in one seven-minute video.
