Barça has reached the figure of over 25 million followers on it's 15 official Twitter accounts, maintaining World leadership in Social Media. Fans can follow, as well as eight multilingual accounts, the day-to-day at all the Barça sporting sections, the Academy, Supporters Clubs, and Barça TV
FC Barcelona is still a World leader on social networks and has just reached a new all-time record: 25 million followers on Twitter over its 15 official accounts. Up to now in 2014, more than 3.1 million new followers have joined at least one of the various official Barça channels on this network.
Since its emergence in 2008 with its Catalan channel @fcbarcelona_cat, Barça has been strengthening its message on Twitter, which has become a must in order to keep up to date with Barça, in a fast, consistent and effective way. In addition to the latest news, via Twitter the fans can follow what’s happening at any moment in Barça matches (with hashtag #fcblive) and take part in the conversation. In the same way, #stagefcb will permit the grouping of info on the team, during their time in England next week.
Global expansion and historic figures
In parallel with the expansion of its digital platform in recent years, the Club has consolidated its presence in social media with Twitter accounts in different languages: French, Arabic, Japonese, Indonesian and Portuguese have been added to the three global languages: English, Spanish and Catalan. Today more than 12 million people follow the official @fcbarcelona account, the sports club with most followers in the World, that has a global ranking in the top ten also with @fcbarcelona_es and @fcbarcelona_cat. The official Catalan account, a few months ago, prompted Catalan translation in Twitter, and since its inception has become an ambassador of Catalan throughout the world
The representation of Barça on Twitter is now complete, with the presence of four other main sporting sections - @fcbbasket, @fcbhandbol @fcbfutbolsala and @fcbhoquei - as well as following what's going on at the Academy (@fcbmasia), official Supporters Clubs (@fcbpenyes) and Barça TV.
Global sporting leaders
During the month of July, Barça has also broken the barrier of 70 million fans on Facebook, another social network where the Club is a global leader. Barca's Facebook page is the fifteenth with most followers in the World and this year has added more than 20 million followers in the first seven months.
