Twitter is Barça’s number one social network of the 2014/15 season, at least in terms of the number of first team players that have official accounts. There are 16 of them, while Luis Enrique is the first FC Barcelona manager to be present in the 2.0 universe.
Neymar tops the list with 14.6 million followers on Twitter, and next on the list are Iniesta (9.6), Piqué (9.5), Alves (5.6) and Mascherano (3.9). But they are not alone, and recent additions to the Twitter world include Luis Suárez, Thomas Vermaelen, Rafinha, Claudio Bravo and Douglas.
Leading the way
FC Barcelona is still the top sports club on Twitter with 16 official accounts and more than 26 million followers. The main account -@fcbarcelona- has almost 13 million, and gained two million of those just this last year. There are seven other languages supported (Catalan, Spanish, Indonesian, Arabic, French, Portuguese and Japanese) and there are also section for the basketball, roller hockey, handball and futsal teams, plus the academy, supporters clubs, FCB Escola and Barça TV.
