After an amazing win at the weekend away to European champions Flensburg, who are at the Palau next Sunday, Barça have a trip to ninth placed Villa de Aranda (3-3-4) for a league match on Wednesday. The home pavilion is famed for one of the most spectacular atmospheres in the championship, but Barça have never lost there.

UEFA Futsal Cup (Group D, Round 1) Wednesday November 19 at 9.00 PM CET

FC Barcelona v Baku United FC

UEFA Futsal Cup (Group D, Round 2) Thursday November 20 at 9.45 PM CET

It’s a huge week for the futsal team. After getting a bye to the Elite Round, the defending European champions host their four-team group at the Palau Blaugrana, where all of the games are being played from Wednesday to Saturday, with only the group winners progressing to the Final Four in April.

Barça start against Berettjóújfalu of Hungary, who have reached this stage for the first time ever and are very much the unknown quantity of the four. Each of the three days of matches are double-headers, with Barça always playing second. The other game on Wednesday starts at 6.15 PM CET, and as on Thursday and Saturday, tickets are valid for both games.

The double bill on Thursday features Lokomotiv Kharkiv and Berettjóújfalu playing first at 7.30 PM CET. That’s followed by what many are predicting will be the deciding match, in which Barça face Baku United. Baku are the first ever English team to have reached this stage, but Spanish manger José Manuel Jiménez has put together an impressive array of international talent, including seven Spaniards, many of whom are well known to the Barça futsal community, including Carlos Muñoz, who was at the club from 2008 to 2011.

The final group matches are being played on Saturday, and at 1.15 PM CET, Barça face Lokomotiv Kharkiv, the Ukrainian side from which the majority of that country’s national team are drawn.

Tickets to see both matches on any day of the Elite Round cost just €7 for the general public, while a ticket for all six games costs €15. Club members pay half price.
